"Boedie"
Boedie was my grandfather’s nickname. As a WWII fighter pilot, he had the values to what it takes to fly; reliablility and attention to detail. At Boedie Cycles, we practice just that. Our custom steel bikes are made to last and every little detail is as important to us as it is to you. Boedie Cycles is not just a brand name, it’s a commitment to heritage and quality.
I was first introduced to cycling around 1989. I was a skinny high school freshman who pestered the local bike shop (Bill Curry’s Cycling and Fitness) until they agreed to hire me. I started racing as a Junior shortly thereafter. In high school drafting class, the teacher agreed to let me draft bike frames and bike components. Well that was more than 25 years ago. Over the last few decades, I have worked in and around the bike industry.
After working in numerous bike shops through out the country, I decided to take the plunge, enrolling in a United Bicycle Institute frame building course in 2007. Ever since then, I have been pursuing my passion of building, honing and perfecting my skills as a frame builder. I enjoy working one-on-one with customers, establishing their goals and designing the bike of their dreams. I help them fulfill their dream of owning a custom, handmade steel bicycle.
